ANOTHER MINE.
OFF GEAT BARRIER ISLAND.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Wellington, March 12. The discovery of a derelict enemy mine on the coast of the Great Barrier Island is a disturbing incident, but it does not appear to bo regarded officially as evidence that a second raider has been in New Zealand waters. The presence of mines in the northern waters of the Dominion has been suspected for some time, and the necessary precautions have been taken. The mine, which had a short length of steel hawser with a broken eDd attached, may have drifted a long distance. It was found on the outer and not the inner coast of tho Great Barrier Island.
