STRATFORD A. AND P. SHOW.

PEOPLE'S DAY. The altcndam:-.' yesterday was well »|) to expectations, the grandstand and ring being thronged. The arrangements were most complete regarding (lie judging, and then? were no protests. The horses shown were, of a high standard of merit. Much interest centred in the superb horsemanship of Mrs. Campbell. The high jump was eagerly anticipated, but proved very moderate, the jumping, outside that of the winner (Tasmaii) being poor, and only one award was made. In the other competitions the horses were nearly equal in merit, some .Tend horsemanship being witnessed. The president and all" the officiate are to be congratulated on the successful results achieved, special praise being due to the ladies' committee for the complete success of their catering. The secrotary, Mr. Stanley, showed himself to be a most capable and courteous official, and his assistant. Mr. Sid. Ward, ablv backed up his chief. Th- Municipal ■Band, under Conductor Spurdle, rendered an excellent programme, which was greatly appreciated.
