INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Inglewood, Saturday. Tim following have enlisted, and "the majority will be going into oamp ift an early date: Messrs. H. Thomson, Waiter, A. Mather, Gunderson, A. Chard, Jordan, M. Bowler, J Cheyne, B. Hunt, Karalus, B. Hunter, filiapper, J. Cuthbert, 15. Eason, ,T. Varley, 15. Rusting. A farewell social to Mr. and Mrs. W. •T. Matthews was held in the Druid's Hall Thursday evening. Mr. Matthews is going into camp, and Mrs. Matthews will reside in the Manaia district for the time being. During the evening songs were contributed by Miss Ksse, Messrs. Hynes, Matthews, and Barlow, and two piano solos by Master McKay, all of which were well received. Mrs. Messenger, 011 behalf of the ladies, presented Mrs. Matthews with a sillj silvermounted umbrella. Mr. F. H. Brown, on behalf of the Golf Club, presented her with a jewel case, and Miss M. Curtis, on behalf of the Tennis Club, presented a handsome pair of silver vases. Mr. Matthews returned thanks 011 behalf of Mrs. Matthews, and' a most enjoyable gathering was brought to a close about midnight. Much sympathy felt for Mr. W. George in the loss of.his wife, who died very suddenly on Wednesday night
