FIT AND READY. MR. ROSs' REPORT. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Wellington, Yesterday. The following special cable lias been received from the New Zealand official war correspondent (Mr. Malcolm Ross), under date March 4:— After several weeks of training and reorganising, the New Zealand troops are again at the top of their form and ready for any eventuality. The mounteds have been doing useful patrol work. The general 'health of the troops is very satisfactory, and spare time has been filled in with a football tournament, rowing and swimming. The Canal defences are now sufficiently strong to repel any probable enemy attack, which, owing to the success of the Russians at Erzeroum, becomes daily less imminent.
