Mr. P. Black, consulting engineer to the New Plymouth Borough Council, returned to Wellington yesterday, Mr. P. WHleox, of Rahotu, hat been re-elected the Egmont County representative on the Egmont National Park Board. Among other promotions in the 10th Reinforcements appears the name of D'Arcy Penwarden, eldest son'of Aii. P. B. Penwarden, of Oakura, who has been made a lance-corporal. Word has been received in Stratford that Sergeant T. Laverty, who underwent an operation in the hospital in Wellington, is doing well, and expect) to lie able to return to Stratford »h»rtly. Mr. E. Jackson, who has been a resident of the Stratford district fy over twenty years, has, says the Post, disposed of his Stratford residence, and has decided to take up his abode in New Plymouth in July next. Mr. Henry William Heath, an old resident of Auckland, died at his residence, Alfred street, on Tuesday, aged 74 years. Very many years ago MrHeath was manager of the North Shor« Ferry Company. Later he retired from that position and started as a land and estate agent. Subsequently deceased was appointed the first agent in Auckland for the London and Lancashire Insurance Co. Some years ago Mr. Heath went to Chico, in California, where Im was engaged in business. Returning to Auckland about twelve years ago, he had resided there ever since. Mr. Heath was one of the oldest members of tk» Auckland Bowling Club.
