Witnesses testified that Polimante was so infatuated that he once said lie would let .himself be murdered for the Countess. Friends of the Countess testified that she was suffering from fits at the time of the. murder. [The Countess is charged with the murder of Pnliante. and admits the crime, saying she had to defend her honor.]
