By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, April 16.' At the inquest in regard to the death of George Allen, insurance agent, whote body was found on St. v Clair beach last Saturday, the evidence disclosed a rather Unfoitunate aspect as regards the cause of death, which was due to cold and exposure.
i £ an officer in a temperancelodge, saw deceased— apparently under the influence of liquor-on the'path on J-riday afternoon and tried hard torouse him, but failed. After finding some insurance papers he reported the man s condition to the eompanv eonceined, but no further action was t#kenv and Allen wa,s found dead 24 hours' later. >
A verdict, ihnt death was due to eolj" antf exposure was returned, the Coroner remarking that there had been ah unfortunate wror of judgment on the part ■ of the witness who found Allen under. thj influence of liouor.
