COLLIERY EXPLOSION
SEVERAL PERSONS KILLED. By Cable—Presa Association—Copyright. Berlin, July 3. Several persons were killed by an explosion at Essen colliery. The force of the explosion was so great that the benzoline and ammonia works near the pit mouth were partly w.-eeked. two persons being killed and six injured. THE DEATH ROLL. Received 4, 11.20 p.m. Berlin, July 4. A later message states, that fifteen were killed in the explosion at the Ostenfield pit at Oberhausen, and eight injured. It is believed that others are entombed.
