APPEAL COURT.
THE MARCONI COMPANY,
By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Tuesday. In the Appeal Court to-day the hearing of the ease Marconi Wireless Company v. The King was begun. The proceedings are but an episode in a worldwide dispute between the Marconi Company and the owners of the Telefunken system as to the validity of their respective patents. The New Zealand Government had entered into a c ( ni;r""t with the Australian Wirele-'s. Lid., for the establishment of stations »• -> under the Telefunken system. The V'Uconi Company have brought a petition of right, alleging actual and threatened infringement of their patents, and claiming damages, relief, and an injunction. This also affects the wireless station already in operation at the Post Office, Wellington The questions of law to be argued are as to whether there is cause of action and whether the court has jurisdiction. The Solicitor-General appears for the Crown and Mess** Bell, K.C., Skerrett, K.C., and Meek for the Marconi Company.
