THE WAY BENEFIT
A meeting of the Way Benefit Fund Committee was held last night, Mr. G. W. Browne, deputy-Mayor, presiding. An approximate statement was presented, showing that about £IOO would be netted from the recent football match (Star v. Tukapa) and the Royal Pictures entertainment. A vote of thanks was passed to the promoters of these for their generosity.
It was decided to call the ladies' committee together to arrange for a social evening, and euchre and bridge tournament, in the Theatre Royal, on a date to be fixed.
The arrangement of a date for a benefit carnival at the skating rink was referred to Messrs. Browne and Stacker.
