WAREHOUSE ROBBERIES. By Telegraph—Press Association. . Wellington, Last Night.J Several cases of robbery from warehouses came before Mr. W. G. Riddel), S.M. this morning. Allan Lee was charged with having stolen goods tOjthe value of £143 Cs fld, the property! (A W. O. Turnbull and Co. Egies.t Charles Gregory was charged withj the theft of goods valued at £5 5s M. the property of A. S. Patterson, and C. Bertio Smith was charged with having received goods knowing them to have been dishonestly olvtaincd, valued at £143 Gs Gd, the'propcrty of W. G. Turnbull and Co. The first charge against Lee was also preferred against Alfred Smith, who was charged with receiving the articles mentioned. He was head storenian in W. G. Turnbull and Co.'i bonded warehouse, and Gregory was under sitoranan for Patterson' and Co. Bertie Smith kept a grocery shop in Russell Terrace, and Alfred Smith, his brother, was au expressman. Gregory and the Brothers Smith pleaded guilty, and were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Bail was allowed, subject to accused reporting to the police every morning and evening. Allan Lee pleaded not guilty, and was defended by Mr. C. M. Dix. Evidence was heard, and accused reserved his defence, and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial, bail being fixed, at £2OO.
