A TRYING VOYAGE
A SEAMAN DROWNED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Wednesday. The ketch Lizzie Taylor arrived from Timaru this morning after a very rough trip. The vessel left the Southern port on Saturday last, and on the following day, when off Kaikoura, she shipped a big sea which washed overboard the wheel aaid the mate, a single man named Charles Brusla, who had,been steering. Brusla was drowned, although great efforts were made to save him. For the remainder of the voyage a block and tackle was fixed to work the rudder. After the accident the ketch was hove to until the weather moderated yesterday. The deceased was a native of Finland, and was 32 wars of age.
