It is stated that the conduct of several members of a certain junior foottaill team during the progress of a match on Saturday was not what it should have been. The referee reportod the whole tca-m to the Wairarapa Rugby Union for unseemly behaviour on the field. The union has ordered the captain ito attend its next meeting in order to give an explanation. During the progress of the Manawatu v. Bush Districts .match on Saturday a player for the latter team, named J. Kennedy, of Pahiatua, was severely kicked on the head and compelled to retire. Auckland. —University (12) v. Parnell (8); Marist Bros. (14) v. Ponsonby (0); City (13) v. Grafton (3). Ohrtetchurch. —Albion scored a very lucky win over Sydenham by C to 3. Ohristchurch, the runners-up in the senior championship, were beaten by Linwood by 6 to 3; while Merivale bad an easy win against Old Boys by 18 to nil. Marist Bros, secured their first win of the season by beating Canterbury College by 14 to 3. The results of Saturday's matches assure Albion the senior championship, as they have now a lead of two points, with only two matches "to play, one of which is against Canterbury College. Dunedin. —Zingari Richmond (9) v. University (5); Southern (10) v. Pirates (5); Union (3) v. Dunedin (3); Kaikorai (12) v. Taieri (8); Alhambra (3) V. Port Chalmers (0).
REFEREES FOR THURSDAY. Seniors.—Star v. Clifton, at Waitara, Mr. F. Spurdle; Tukapa v. Inglewood, at Inglewood, Mr. G. Hopkins. NORTHERN UNION GAME. A PROFITABLE TOUR. Auckland, Monday. The Northern Union foot.ball team returned from Sydney by the Wimmera on Sunday. Mr. Philnn. manager of the team, states that the team's share of gate receipts was £4OOO, leaving £3OOO clear profit. The team has gained invaluable experience, and are now yastly improved in combination. Arrangements have been made with the New South Wales. League for an annual fixture, for which there is a guarantee oS £ISOO and all expenses at any time a New Zealand team goes orer. Bach New Zealand player was paid £8 10s a week while on tour, to compensate for loss of wages. The New South Wales League wishes to send a team over to New Zealand within sSx weeks, and this will probably be arranged.
