SIGNS OF REACTION, By Cable —Press Association—Copyrigkt. London, July 21. Sir J. Quick, interviewed by the Evening Standard, Baid that there were already signs of reaction in Australasia from the Labor Party's revolutionary policy, which was due to the proposal to amend the constitution in a manner tending to destroy the States' power artl centralise the governing powers and functions in the Federal Parliament. The Labor Party was now in an awkward position. It was unable to give effect to its policy, and must play a waiting game until next election.

A count of heads points to the Government securing a narrow majority. NO SUGGESTION BEFORE CABINET. Received 23, 5.5 p.m. Melbourne, July 22. Mr. Hughes says he knows nothing of Mr. O'Malley's scheme for the purchase of the Sydney Post Office block. No suggestion of the kind is before Cabinet.
