BANDITS 808 , A TRAIN. New York, July 20 . At North Dakota, three masked tyindits, robbed all the passengers on the North-West Limited, but left tho express and mail cars alone. >j When the train pulled into Towen City the robbers had a motor car waiting, and rode rapidly for the foothills. A posse is now pursuing them. HOULDER BROS.' CASE. London, July 20. Houlders' settlement was arranged through Lord Furness, and includes the allotment to the Federal Steam Navigation Company of 50,000 unissued shares in Houlder Bros., which will lie -transferred to Furness, Withy & Co., who now have a controlling interest in Ilouldcr Bros. SHUTTING OUT FROZEN MEAT. Vienna, July 20. The Minister of Agriculture has prohibited further imports of Argentine meat, including the shipments already afloat.

CHOLERA AT MARSEILLES. Paris, July 20. Four cases of cholera have occurred at Marseilles. There have been no fresh eases for forty-eight hours, and the sanitary state of the town is normal. TEN MEN KILLED. Rome, July 20. A slip on a hillside at Carrara buried fourteen workmen engaged in the marble quarries, and ten were killed. AN ELECTION LIBEL. London, July 20. The King's Bench awarded Mr. Poster, ex-member for Lowestoft, £IOOO damages against Mr. Beauchamp, the sitting member, for stating in an election pamphlet that Mr. Foster's votes on the Workmen's Compensation Bill were contrary to the interests of fishermen. NOT ENGAGED IN ESPIONAGE. Berlin, July 20. Enquiry shows that the Japanese major arrested at Hammelburg was not engaged in espionage.

BOYS' BRIGADES. London, July 20. The King inspected the Boys' Brigade, the Church Lads Brigade, and the Boy Scouts at Ilolyrood. BAPTIST COLLEGE FOR RUSSIA. London, July 20. The Baptist World Alliance has commissioned the Rev. F. B. Meyer and Dr. Conwell to appeal to the Czar for permission to establish a university in Russia for training Baptist Ministers for all European countries.
