TARANAKI POULTRY SHOW
THE SECOND DAY. The poultry show was continued yesterday in splendid weather. The attendance, though good, was not up to expectations. The officials all worked well, the assistant secretary (Mr. J. H. Moverley) proving of invaluable assistance, by reason of his long experience, to Mr. S. Green, the secretary, who was kept hard at work until a very late hour. THB BABY SHOW, , The great attraction was the baby show, and the specimens of very juvenile humanity were a distinct credit to their parentage and to the nursery methods of the people of North Taranaki. Of 53 babies entered, 43 were presented for judging, and Drs. Blackley and Milroy had a busy time of it. The awards were as follows: Under six m«nths: Mrs. W. G. Robinson's boy, four m»nths (Inglewood), 1; Mrs. John BouMen's (New Plymouth) girl, six months, 5; Mrs. WaldoCk's (New Plymouth), six weeks, 3. Under 12 months: Mrs. Goldsmith's (Waitara), girl, seven months, 1 and champion; Mrs. J. T. P. Jones' boy, nine months, 2; Mrs. Howlett's (New Plymouth), girl, 10 months, 3. Under 18 months: Mrs. J. Coptsky fcepperton), girl, 12 months, 1; Mrs. G. Wadman's (FMzroy) girl, 18 months, 2; Mrs. H. Ward's (New Plymouth), bov. 14 months, 3. , Drs. Blackley and Milroy gave a special ] prize for Mrs. Upson's twin boys, 15. : montks old. Mrs. H. Weston presented liaHdsomel bimches of violets to the mothers of the three winning babies. Mrs. H. J. M«verley and J. ReT»U acted as stewards, and Mr. H. J. Gilbert had chucge of the oltisa.
