The "Maim" Committee elected by the natives present at the gathering now ill progress at Waahi, hold its first meeting on Wednesday night under the presidency of Mahutii. Everything, it was stated, was ready for the visit of the Acting-Prime Minister (Sir James Carroll), and it was anticipated that the majority of the parties interested in the scheme for the partition of their lands would be present at Saturday's meeting. The business in connection with the meeting was resumed to-day, when Messrs. Kaihau, Kent and others were present. The work consisted in going over 24 blocks, comprising an area of between 40,000 and 50,000 acres.
