ANNIHILATING TUBERCULOSIS
ONLY A MATTER OF 25 YEARS. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright London, July 19. Mr. John Burns, in opening the conference of the National Association for the Prevention of Consumption, stated that the disease during the last decade had decreased 19 per cent, in England and Wales, 24 per cent, in both Scotland and Ireland, and 30 per cent, in London. There were now two deaths from consumption in London compared with three in Berlin and Paris. Consumption and tuberculosis were diminishing forces, and experts believed their annihilation ought to be effected in twenty-five years.
