Discharging operations in connection with the Margit have been temporarily suspended to enable ballast to be taken aboard. She has at present only 250 tons of cargo on board and is very high out of the water. The sand which is being used for. ballast is being taken from the beach on the eastern side of the wharf, but as the crane will interfere with shunting operations on the wharf to-day it is probable that the remainder of the ballast will be taken from the western side of the breakwater. THE STORM . The Storm is due from Westport this morning with about 500 tons of coal, 300 tons of which is for the Railway Department. THE'ROSAMOND. The Rosamond sailed from Wellington at midnight on Monday for Picton, Nelson and New Plymouth, and is due here to-morrow. She will probably have about 200 tons of cargo to land here.

ECHO D[JE EARLY. The Echo'(auxiliary scow) has been chartered to load fertilisers at Wellington on behalf of the National Dairy Association for New Plymouth, and is due to leave at any date now. About fifty tons of the cargo will be transhipped here to one of the Northern Company's boats for Raglan. '• THE OHINEMURI.
