THE DENTAL CONFERENCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Saturday. The Dental Conference concluded last night. Mr. J. N. Rishworth (Auckland) was elected president, and Dr. Norman Cox (Timaru) president-elect. It was decided to hold all future conferences at Wellington. RAILWAY OFFICERS' INSTITUTE. Dunedin, Saturday. The Representation Commission to rearrange the electoral boundaries of New Zealand in consequence of the population changes as shown by the recent census, will meet in Wellington next Tuesday. ACCIDENT TO A CRANE. Gisborne, Saturday. Whilst a travelling crane, weighing 8 tons 17cwt., was being lifted from the bold of the steamer Ripple, the chain by which it was suspended from the arm of the wharf crane broke, and it dropped on top of the framework of a large W.A. locomotive consigned to the Railway Department. The 'extent of the damage to the latter is not yet ascertained. NAPIER THEATRE. Napier, Saturday. The Hon. Mr. Pitt arrived from Melbourne with plans for a municipal theatre which will cost £IB,OOO to £20,000. The plans show a building of elaborate design to seat 1000. The council adopted the plans, and resolved to invite tenders returnable on July 31. JOURNALISTS AT VARIANCE.. Palmerston N., Saturday. A writ claiming £5Ol damages for' alleged libel has been issued by E.
