Grey in reference to his acceptance of the position of Resident British Agent in Egypt and the Soudan. It is understood that the status and the emoluments of the post will be increased. "A STRONG MAN NEEDED." Received 16, 5.5 p.m. Cairo, July 15. The Christian and Moslem press are favorable to the appointment of Lord Kitchener. They agree that a strong man is needed. The Nationalist comments are bitter. SIR E. GORST'S SUCCESSOR. Received 17, 12.4 a a.m. It is officially announced that Lord Kitchener will succeed the late Sir Eldon Gorst.
