SWIMMING.

SPORTS THIS EVENING. A swimming sports myeting will bo held by the .New Plymouth Amateur Club in the Municipal Baths this evening. In addition to three handicap races, for which excellent entries have been received ,a water polo match that should be very exciting and closely coa■tested will he played between two trial teams, from which the team to represent New Plymouth at the New Zealand meeting at Auckland will be selected. The teams have been selected by Messrs Lints and Stocker as follow:—A team: Cooper (goal), Pfankucli (centre forward), Turnbuli (half), Brown, Dixon, Hawkins and A. V. Stohr. B team: Fairbrother (goal), Watson. Preshaw, Laing, Harle, Standish, an,i Wlitttaker. Emergency, J. Stolir. The handicaps for the three races on the programme have been allotted by Mr. Lints as follow:

50yds Handicap—Pfankuch and Bristol ■ser., Brown 1 sec., A. V. Stohr. Stohr and Sea-bright 2, Ha wkins. Standish and Laing 3', Preshaw 4, Turnbuli, Howell and Francis 5, Harle and J. Stohr 0.
