To the Editor. Sir—l noticed in your swimming | column this morning some remarks with ! regard to the raising of funds to de- : fray the expenses of the proposed trip of a Xow Plymouth team to the X'ew Zealand championship meeting. I am, 'therefore, taking tiie liberty of writing ito your paper endorsing the opinion of ' your reporter. I am an old swimmer and polo player myself, and have attended several championship meetings. I have also seen the Xew Plymouth polo (players practising ami playing in the local baths, and, as a result, I consider that should they go to Auckland next month and have ordinary luck they will j shake things up there. I think, therefore. that the townspeople, bearing in mind the fact that the trip of a representative swimming team is in some way 1 an advertisement to the town, would support a concert to assist, towards their expenses. Thanking you in anticipation of insertion, —I am, etc., OLD SWIMMER.
