FOUNDERING OF THE MAT,Si! SHIMA. 141 MEN RESCUED BY CRUISERS. 160 MISSING. Tokio, April :SO. The. Matsu Shiniiv was anchored at the Islands when her magazine exploded. She foundered in shallow water. Only her hridge i» now visible. Two cruisers rescued 141 of the men, including some officers. The majority, including the captain, perished. The vessel's complement was 300, including 58 cadets'. It is feared the. victims include Marshal Oyama's eftgg.
