SUTTON'S DEVON EAVER RYE, IT IS PERENNIAL AND IT WILL NOT RUN OUT. There is nothing new about Sutton's Devon Eaver—it Is over 100 years old. ~., ..,v b „„ ■„ „ uu y.mujfai giuoo in all pastures for sheep or cattle, it is very important that the greatest caution and care be exercised in securing seed which will prove perenniall and will not run out. Experience in England has proved that seed saved by Sutton's, from their old pastures in Devonshire, gives not only a grass which will last for all lime, but one which has easily a greater feeding value than all others. Exactly the same applies to this colony. The noted pastures in Poverty Bay and Hawke's Bay were all laid down in this seed more than fifty years ago, nud arc as good to-day as they ever were; in fact, each year they improve. Also, there is no doubt whatever that the finest stands of Eye in Taranaki are those very old pastures which were sown down with this old Devonshire seed in the early days by the Missionaries. It has held better than all the seeds s own and gathered in the colony. Although the hest Colonial Rye, even from Mission Stations, may die out in time, the Dtvon Eaver, brough here by tlie missionaries some fifty years ago, though sown in many different localities, remains in the ground today; this applies also to the same seed brought out by Devonshire families nearly forty years ago. Indeed, although Taranaki Soil is very reluctant to accept Colonial and the ordinary imported Eye seed, it has shown a remarkable liking for SnttoJ's Devon Eaver. This is such a well-known fact amongst the more observant taranaki farmers cthat we are pressed on all sides to get supplies from Sutton's of this seed. We 1 Ave sold out our first two shipments, and the third, comprising 20 tanks, has just arrived per Corinthic. A large quantity of this has been tooted for all parts of Taranaki by our shrewdest farmers who realise that a good sowing is as important as a good burn. The Eye all cornea out in sealed tanks, thus preserving its vitality. P.S.—Don't confuse Sutton's Devon on Eaver Eye Grass Seed with other seed sold as imported English Perennial Rye—there is as great a difference as between sunshine and d arkness. Wc guarantee satisfaction, and you have Sutton's name, which lias been pre-eminent for 101 years, as a further warrantv of satisfaction. REMEMBER—IT IS THE ONLY TRUE PERENNIAL RYE. Tf you wish we can also supply a prime sample of Colonial Eye, weighing 321h<? to tho bushel, which cannot be beaten by any other Colonial Rye on the market. We also stock:—Cowgrass, White Clover, Alsike, Trefoil, Lotus Major, Italian Rye, Meadow Foxtail, Creste d Dogstail, Poa Pretensis, Poa Trivial, Timothy Cocksfoot (prime, heavy, clean, Akaroa seed), and all other seeds. Write or wire us for samples. E. GRIFFITHS AND €O., SEEDSMEN, EGMONT STREET, NEW PLYMOUTH.
