NAPIER CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. Per Press Association. Napier, Saturday. The weather cleared sufficiently to al. low of the swimming championships proceeding. The water was choppy. Results:— 220 yds Breaststroke—Russell (Sydenham) 1, Ball (St. Albans) 2, Ruscott (Christchureh), last year's champion, 3. Won by four test, "lime, 3min 17 1-3 100 Yard- Champion (Auckland) 1. Fnv'o-i-.' I Wellington! 1. Daw-I -on totagoi 3. W„u by four yards.] Time, lmin 13-ec. Freyberg swam ou:--ide the flag-. 880 yds Championship Champion (Auckland) 1, Freyberg (Wellington) 2, Rich (Canterbury) 3. Won by twenty lengths. Time, lamin 4sec. Napier, Last Night. In connection with the 220 yards swimming championship to-day, a protest was entered against C. B. Freyberg. who finished second, for not touching the ro|ie. The protect was upheld, and E. J. Dawson (Otago) was placed second, and F. E. Dodge (Christchureh) third.
