ANTARCTIC EXPLORATION.
Sydney, November 4. Mr. Bead, manager of Commander | Shackleton's expedition in the Nimrod i to the Antarctic, states that the equip-' jnent is a great improvement on that of] previous expeditions. SERIOUS ANTHRAX OUTBREAK. Sydney, November 4. The Government veterinary surgeon reports that the death of almost all of a ><i{e drove of cattle which occurred last week was due to anthrax. RAILWAY ACCIDENT. Sydney, November 4. The North-Western'mail train, with a hundred passengers- alnrard, was derailed at Breeza. None of the passengers were injured, but considerable damage was done to the rolling stock. _' A DESTRUCTIVE STORM. Adelaide, November i. A destructive storm has occurred at! Modnadatta. Most of the houses in the township were unroofed, and the Government railway workshops were demolished.
