FEDERAL MAILS CUNTRACT.
Melbourne, November 4. Important developments are likely to result in the event of the Orient Company securing the mail contract from the Federal Government. It is stated that the company, in order to identify its enterprise more closely with Australia, contemplates raising the money require 1 to build _ the now steamers (required under contract) in Australia. It is alse proposed that a local board of directorbe appointed to manage the business.
