Bankers’ “Emblem” on the Flagpole.

Speaking in Otago recently, the Minister of Public Works, Hon. R. Semple, said that if he had his way he would “put the dungarees on the bankers,” and he also made some other remarks not at all complimentary to the profession of banking. At Eltham to-day the annual bowling and tennis between North and South Taranaki bank officers was held and considerable amusement was caused by the sight of a pair of dungarees at. the flagpole flapping lazily in the breeze.
