ENDING ECHO.

Acoustics of Borough Meeting Room.

The acoustic properties of the upstairs meeting-room were briefly referred to at the meeting of the Borough Council last nigh’t. Mr. A. D. Blick, architect, advised that covering on the walls to eliminate the echo in the meeting-room would cost £5l. Linoleum and a good lim& base would cost an additional £53. The Deputy-Mayor, Councillor W. P. P. Gordon, thought that before spending such an amount the council should seriously consider shifting the the location of the reading-room over to the larger room. Further consideration of the matter was deferred until next meeting.
