CITY COUNCIL.

FORTNIGHTLY MEETING

The fortnightly meeting of the City Council- was held last evening. 3Present : Councillors T. Pettit (Deputy Mayor, ia the chair), J. A. Stringer, 8.. Watson. T S. Edwards, J. W. Harris, F. Plum, and W.C. Hsxlev.

The Mayor and Cr. Baigent were excused from attendance.

Accounts were passed for payment as follows-.—

Reference was made to the death of the late CrY W. S. Hiampson, a.s reported elsewhere, and as a mark off respect to his memory. the Council, on the motion of.Grs. Harley and Watson, adjourned until next Friday evening.
