HAYWARD'S PICTURES.

"THE SAFETY CUItTAIN." Norma Talmadge gives a noteworthy performance in ''The Safety Curtain,'' a Select masterpiece, in which she is supported by Eugene O'Brien as a- fascinating and handsome soldier. Norma is seen as Puck, a dancer at London music halls. She is married to a brutal "strong man," named Vulcan, who berts her unmercifully. A most realistic fir© scene is shown in the theatre, nnd while Vulcan is apparently burned Puck is rescued by an Army officer home on leave. He eventually marries her, and takes her with him to Inffia, where she becomes the topic of conversation amongst the regimental "cats." Her drunken husband appears later on, and claims her, and she leaves ncr soldior to obey him, but fortunately the plague Kien raging removes the only obstacle to^a^'ifelbhg nappiness. This picture will be exhibited at the Empire toj night.
