WAIMEA (8) V. OLD BOYS (NIL).
One of the most important matches of the season was played at Richmond, between Waimea and Old Boys Seniors. Waimea kicked a penalty goal immediately after the start. The game was hotly contested throughout, and the result was open.to doubt until the last five minutes. Old Boys were pressing hard, and a score looked imminent, but I \Vaimea forced the game, and not only cleared their line, but removed all doubt by scoring a try, which was converted. A few more minutes' play did not pro- , duce any further score. The result was I a win for Waimea by 8 points to nil. ' Mr Guy was referee.
