The Irish Constituent Assembly appointed an executive, including De Va-» lera, Griffith, Count Plunkett, and the Countess Markieveiz, as departmental directors. The so-called Parliament bebated the land question. ..Thirty youths invaded the Limerick Hospital in ah attempt to rescue Robert Byrne, a hunger striking prisoner. They attacked the police with bludgec-ns and revolvers, killing a policeman and wounding five. They hound their victims with ropes, locked them in a room, and escaped with Byrne.
