STOP-WOUK AT GREEN ISLAND

The Green Island coalminers held a stop-work meeting on Saturday to consider the question of obtaining improved conditions. .: Delegates were appointed to wait on. the employers, but no meeting took place, and another stop-work meeting was held to-day and no work was done. One of the principal changes desired by_ the men:is ■apparently that the companies do trucking at mines, and another is that men should fill, the boxes at the.face as the face as the coal falls instead of sorting it into three classes.
