COCK CUP.
The final for this competition, which is leally the Junior Championship, is to be fought out on Saturday next between J. H. Cock and J. R. Strachan, and a very close contest is anticipated. : : October 14th. ' rlhe final for the Cock Cup, which is practically the Junior" Championship of the Nelson Golf Club was played oni Friday between J. R. Strachan and J. H. Cock, and proved a very even ana exciting contest, ..the result being in favour of Strachan, 3 up and 2 to play. The match was a 36-hole contest, and the first round ended all square. This was also how .the match stood at the 24th hole, after which the winner secured a lead which he maintained to the finish. Strachan was the runnerup for this competition when it was last played in 1916, andl his win was well merited. Both players were on the top of their form, approaching and putting with deadly accuracy. \ .'
