NELSON CLUB'S CHAMPIONSHIP.

(From "Tke Colonist," October 9th.) I. The final for the club championship i ■ of the Nelson Golf Club was " played V yesterday, the contestants being C P. Palmer and Dr. Mcßallop. The course was in excellent order, and the weather; conditions were ideal. The result ofj the match, which was over a 3&-hole course, was an easy win for Palmer by 7 up and 6 to play, he taking the first hole (4) and his opponent never; getting better than all square. The winner's first round was an 89, as fol-j lows: —4, 7. 4, 4, 5, 6, 6, 4, 4, 5, 3, 5,! 6, 5 o, 3, '6, 7—89; 44 out, 45 home.-; Dr. McKillop was 11 strokes to the bad in the first round, which ended by Palmer being 8 up. " i Palmer is _to be congratulated upon i his victory, and .undoubtedly deserves! the position of club champion for theseason. . , : The runner-up, Dr. McKillop, who is a new member of the club and practic-., ally a stranger on the local course, is! also to be congi-atulated upon obtaining' that position.
