FATAL ACCIDENT.
(From "The Colonist," Sept' 20th.) A serious accident occurred at Richmond on AVednosday evening, which resulted in the admission to the i\olson Hospital of Mr. Arthur Hansford who was connected with the marble 'quarries over the Bay, suffering from a severe fiacture of the base of the skull Mr. Hansford was a passenger by ! Newman Bros.' mail car from jflotueka to Neifion, and as it was passing through Richmond he asked the driver to pull up for a moment. Before the car was brought to a standstill however^ Mr. Hansford jumped out, and tell heavily, striking the back of hiF head on the ground. It was apparent that lie was in a- serious condition, as apart from a cut on the head blood was issuing from boM ears, And he was removed to the hospital. _ Mr. Hansford succumbed to his injuries at a quarter past 5 o'clock ves-i terclay evening. >,
