Sir Douglas Haig reports:— There were successful minor operations last night astride the Ypres-Co-mines Canal. We advanced our line on a front of "two miles, and captiired a number of prisoners and machine guns. There have been raiding and patrol encounters at Mpeuvres and Gavrelle. We have established new posts in the vicinity of Auchy, Caughy, and Oppy.' A French communique reports:— Between the Oise and the Aisne we continued to make-progress. We carried Mont Designes.
