(Au.stralian-N.Z. Cable Association.)

(Received Sept. 16, 7,30 p.m.)

New York, Sept. 15

Mr Frank Simonds, commenting on the offensive in the St. Mihiel sector, says that Marshal Foch's success is a magnificent example of the advantages of a unified command and a revelation of Foch's military genius. It is hopeful evidence that there will not be a let up in the general Allied offensive. Marshal Foch is now free to launch an offensive in the direction of Briey and the iron mines -without danger to hie southern flank at Nancy, between Metz and Strassburg, which would be the beginning of a real invasion of Germany. It is certain "to come in 1919, compelling tho , Germans to evacuate i Northern Franco and Western Belgium.
