MURDER OF M. SAZANOFF
REPORTED GERMAN ULTIMATUM
TO THE BOLSHEVIK!
RIGHT OF WAY FOR TROOPS.
(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association).
New York, Sept. ,4
The "New York Times' " Washington correspondent reports that official dispatches have been received saying; that M. Sazanoff was murdered.
It is~ reported that following -the Siberian declaration of war against Germany, the Provisional Government asked for Allied intervention.
The keenest interest is shown in official diplomatic circles at Washington concerning an unconfirmed report that Germany sent an ultimatum to the Bolsheviki demanding free passage for troops across Russia in order to attack the Allies and the Czecho-Slovaks. Mr Lansing and the Russian Embassy haveno confirmation of the report.
