Wellington, July 26. The Minister of Public Works has been advised that the headings of the Otira tunnel have now been actually joined tip most satisfactorily, reflecting great credit on the engineers, whose work approaches a record for accuracy. The alignment is only out three-quarj tors of an inch, the levels differed only one inch and," an eighth, and the chainage only thirty-six inches.
