A CONCERT FOR THE RED CROSS.
A musical entertainment was given in the Methodist Hall last night,& toja large audience, by St. John's choir assisted by friends. The programme'was grcatlv enjoyed, and by a collection over £1.0 was raised for the Red (..'rose Fund. In the first part excerpts from Gaul's cantata, "lluth," were sung, the soloists being Mrs White, Misses Smith, Docksey, Cass. Burroughs and Radford, and Mr J. H. Parker. .The second part was as follows: —Overture, "Rienzi" (organ and piano), Misses Baumber and Neale; song,.''Tho Gurfe,w%" Mr W. J. Saikeld,- recitation, Miss Hart; song, "The: Floral..Dance,'Miss Burroughs.; duet,: '' Watchman/!What of the Night?"-Messrs W. J. Salkeid and A. P. Lucas. Every itom in this part was encored.
