MAORI ENTERTAINMENT.
.A capital entertainment was given at the-School of Music last evening by a company of Motueka and Takaka Maoris, in aid of the Maori Soldiers' Fund. The audience was very appreciative, and recalls were'frequent, the1 purely: native items being most favour-] cd. The hakas, single and double ror| dances, dance of welcome, and quartette singing with chorus were all encored, and the performers were very indulgent. We regret that the laudable object of the promoters and performers was not attained, for, though the lower priced seats were filled.- the , attendance was not on the whole sufficiently Jarge to ensure a return that would more^thah cover the expenses of the visit.
