COMMITTEE'S REPORT.

Wellington, Oct. 24. The Cost 'of Living Committee's amended report was presented to the House o.t Representatives this afteruoon.

The chairman of the committee explained that it was simply the old report, with the dclotion of the- paragraph relating to the purchase of local products at -current export prices and their sale'at lower prices, the diiferoiice to. bo found from the ConsoluJda'ted Fund- Tho committee were unable (o substitute any other -clause. The only other, amendment was tiie deletion- of tho word "plenary" in connection with the powers recommended for a Food Controller. The amended report was adopted without discussion.
