Correspondents at'the •front state that despite thick mist and strengthened machine gun defences, we recaptured the ruins of tie brewery adjoining Poelcapelle after heavy fighting.
We made progress for some hundreds of yards near Houthulst Forest and northward of Poelcapelle. A counterattack involved the enemyin- heavy losses. >
A later message records anotler fierce counter-attack along the railway. The visibility ha.« improved, enabling our gunners to exact severe toll from the enemy.
