ABANDONED L\ COUNTRY. (From our Parliamentary' Correspondent.) Wellington. Oct. 17. Tlie Minister of Defence announced in the House of Representatives to-day that a conference of group officers took place in Wellington this week to discuss Territorial parades. They resolved to recommend that Saturday afternoon and evening parades in the country be abandoned, and that Senior Cadet parades in the country be also dispensed with. The Minister said he would agree to these proposals but he did not intend to do away with Senior Cadet parades in towns.
