Herr Ebert, President of the Socialist Party in the Reichstag, presiding at a Socialist meeting at Wurzburg said that the .speedy conclusion of peace was a vital necessity for workmen in all countries. Another report states that Ebert said that the Socialists favoured Al-sace-Lorraine having complete republican autonomy and a constitution of equality with other federal States.
