MAILED FIST POLICY DOOMED.

Herr Ebert, President of the Socialist Party in the Reichstag, presiding at a Socialist meeting at Wurzburg said that the .speedy conclusion of peace was a vital necessity for workmen in all countries. The'policy of the mailed fist, after war's frightful sorrows, must disappear. If a ballot were taken nine-tonths of the people woi^ld approve of peace. He declared that the Michaelis regime spells the collapise of the present government system in Germany.
Another report states that Ebert said that the Socialists favoured Al-sace-Lorraine having complete republican autonomy and a constitution of equality with other federal States.
