NELSON CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING. I (From "Tl:o Colonist," Sept. 24th.) The annual meeting of tlie Nelson Cricket Association was held at Sfcallard's room on Saturday evening, The president (Mr J. H. Fhmey) occupied the chair, and the following delegates' were present; Messrs Broad ("College), Frankly n (Nelson), Haycock, Eden (Brightwater), Bradstock''(Stoke), and; !A. . Bcnsomann (Kamura), Hon. secretary. \ -\

fiio hon. secretary, in his report, stated that difficulty had been experienced last season in keeping the game going ■ owing to the. large number 5 of players on active service, and some clubs had been unable to put full teams in the Held in some of tlieir matches. The championship was won for the iirst time by Stoke, with Kamura runnersup. Only one outside match was played last .season, against a team From Wellington. The visitors scored 267 in 3-J- hours, and Nelson replied with '?i3 for 2 wickets, made in 2* hours. The wicket nt the Park last season was in fair order, owinjr to the good top-dress-ing received. The -balnnee-shoef. showed a credit balance of £6 14s, with outstanding subscriptions amounting to £8, somi? of which had come in since the accounts were closed. The secretary stated that he had a list ot lu2 players who had gone to the front.
