PRESBYTERIAN LADIES' GUILD.

ANN DAL SALE OF WORK AND FLOWER SHOW.

(From "Tho Colonist," Sept. 20t1.) The annual sale of work and flower show held by the Presbyterian Ladies' Guild was opened yesterday, and will continue open this afternoon and evening.

I'ho stalls were all well stocked and wore well patronised. The flower show was a really excellent display. The Mayor (Mr. W.- Wallace S'nodgrass) formally opened tie function in the afternoon, and took occasion to refer to the part raembers of the church were taking as soldiers on, active service. ' •The Mayoress was^the recipient of a handsome shower bouquet. Those connected with the various stalls in tfce sale of work were as follows:— Guild work stall: Mesdames Thompson, Widdowson and Nielson. Mrs. Hamilton-Smith's work stall • Mesdames Hamilton-Smith, Evans and Dodds, and Miss Widdowson. Girls'. Club work stall: Mrs. Gibb, and a large number of assistants. Cake and sweet stall: Mesdames Duirs, W. .Robertson, Stewart and McLean. Produce stall: Mesdames C. Barltrop, John Robertson and Blanche, and Misses McCorichie and Scott. : Tea kiosk: Mesdames Row© arid Walker, and Misses Robertson, Constable and Rowe. Bran pie: Mrs. Gay, and Misses Toms, McLean and McConchie. Woodwork stall: Boys' Senior Bible Class. The "Bowery Maze" was in charge of Mesdames W. G. Iverr and W. S. Milner, the assistants being Misses T). Robertson, Phyllis and Muriel Shallcrass, E. BlaneLe and Rosie Robertson. This was a flower stall very effectively set up and decorated, and' with quite novel features in the method of disposing of certain portions of the- stock-in-trade. The stall .was much admired and did a brisk business.

Mr. Arthur Day judged the cr.t blooms and pot plants, and Mesdames CookG; Lucas and James Hunt (Richmond) judged the exhibits in tie decorative section.

The general arrangements in connection with the flower show were in the hands of Mesdames Angus and A. Harley; joint secretaries, and Mr. N. i Fleming, treasurer. ■ • September 22nd. The financial result of the sale of | work and flower ; show in connection (with the Presbyterian Ladies' Guild was highly satisfactory, the takings amounting to £150.
